1 / What should I include when I get in touch?
Tell us about your home — its address or suburb, the stage you're at, and what you're hoping to achieve. A few images or a plan are helpful if you have them, but not essential. What matters most is a sense of how you live, and what isn't quite working yet.
2 / Do I need existing plans or drawings before I get in touch?
No. Many of our conversations begin well before any drawings exist. If you do have plans, we're happy to see them, but the earlier we're involved, the more we can shape the outcome from first principles, rather than work around decisions already made.
3 / How far in advance should I get in touch?
As early as possible. The earliest conversations, before layouts are fixed and materials chosen, are where the most value is added. We would rather meet you at the beginning of a decision than the end of one.
4 / At what stage of a project should an interior designer be involved?
Before the plans are finalised, ideally. Early involvement means light, layout, joinery and material decisions are considered together as one resolved outcome, rather than layered on afterwards.
5 / What's the difference between an interior designer and a decorator or stylist?
An interior designer works with the architecture of a home — space, flow, light, joinery, and how a family will actually live within it. A decorator or stylist works with what sits inside that architecture once it's built. We work across both, which is why our documentation is as considered as our material choices.
6 / How do you charge for your services?
Every fee is proposed against the specific scope of a project — there is no standard rate we apply across the board. You'll know exactly what's included, and why, before anything is agreed.
7 / What does your design process look like?
It begins with listening and understanding not just how a space should look, but how it needs to feel to live in. From there, concept, design development and documentation unfold in stages, each one building carefully on the last, through to completion.
8 / How long does a project typically take?
A single room and a full home renovation belong to entirely different scales of work, so timelines vary considerably. We're able to give you an honest, project-specific estimate early in the conversation.
9 / Do you work with our architect or builder, or recommend your own?
Both. If you already have a builder or architect you trust, we're glad to work alongside them. If not, we can recommend people we know deliver to the same standard we hold ourselves to.
10 / Where do you source furniture, materials and finishes?
Wherever the project calls for it — from Perth's finest local makers and showrooms to pieces sourced further afield when nothing closer suits. We choose each piece for how a family will actually live with it, not for how well it photographs, so sourcing is guided by the same care as everything else in a project.
